Ronald Acuna Jr. has a new kutte with the most prestige patch- the Founder. Acuna is the first player in MLB history to hit 40 homeruns and steal 70 bases in the same season, cappin' off a historic and sure fire MVP achieving campaign. Baseball has it's new club to try and join... another one off the founding of Acuna.

First it was the creation of the 30/60 club, then the 40/60 club; and now an illustrious 40/70 club. 40/70 is wild, and may not have a new member for a long time... unless it's Acuna next season of course. So wild in fact, that none of the other players to post a 40-40 season- Jose Canseco (1988); Barry Bonds (1996); Alex Rodriguez (1998); and Alfonso Soriano (2006)- posted 50 bases, let alone 70. Here is the moment Acuna made history:

Acuna is the first to snag 70 bases in 14 years since Jacoby Ellsbury stole 70 for the Red Sox in 2009. Look, Mookie Betts has been unreal this season, but he hasn't been Ronald Acuna Jr. unreal, cha heard. Sorry to all the WAR lovers, but it's facts. We have witnessed an unprecedented season from Acuna as he helped the Braves secure the number 1 seed for the NL Playoffs. Acuna is the sure fire MVP.

The 40-40 club remains very rare to begin with. Only five times prior and not seen since '06. Barry Bonds and Eric Davis had been the only players to steal 50-plus bases within a 30-homer season. 40/70 is jaw droppin' impressive. I seriously doubt it's something that can be repeated. Not for a long time for that matter. Acuna breaking it again, is more realistic than anything.

Take a bow Ronald Acuna Jr. Thank you for allowing us to witness history. Now we get to experience his greatness again in the playoffs when the stage is the brightest. As disappointing and sad as it is to have to say goodbye to a special hitter like Miguel Cabrera- at least we have the safe haven of knowing we get to experience another generational hitter and player in Ronald Acuna.
