Jakeo The Ruler

Jakeo The Ruler! Jake Haener is a bad; bad man ladies and gentlemen. Who you say? Who? Who? You will make sure to remember the damn name after reading the greatness this young man showed as he heroically brought his Fresno State Bulldogs to a monumental; come from behind dub to stun #13 UCLA. It was a damn good sight to behold.

This stud Haener put in a performance for the ages... the AGES. Bulldogs needed every ounce of grit from their QB to shock the land of The Rose Bowl; they got that and then some! It was an electric game throughout as we saw the Bulldogs make the favorite UCLA fight to the brink, the same way they created an upset bid against Oregon two weeks ago. Once again though the dust went thick and fast. UCLA's defense forced fumbles on consecutive fourth-quarter possessions, converting both into touchdowns to take a 30-26 lead with 7:27 remaining. Taking what looked to be all the air out of Fresno State. Until the man himself, Haener responded by leading a 10-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. The pressure on him was relentless but the dude put 'em on the table, bit down on his piece and started throwing dimes. Haener marched them to take the lead but his body wanted to march him to the ER. After throwing a slick go-ahead touchdown to Erik Brooks with 2:55 remaining, Haener fell to the turf writhing in pain from the numerous hits and straight smackin' the Bruins put on him in the backfield. Haener doesn't need to be hip to throw dimes (no pun intended). Check out the dime and GRIT Haener delivers in his first of two big balla touchdowns:

Gritty and witty man... Haener's ball placement on his throws throughout the drive and on the toudy was simply superb. If you think that throw is easy with a bad hip then you are nutty; if you think that throw is easy off a perfectly healthy hip you are also nutty. Gritty throw that forced the home favorite to not make a mistake. UCLA did no such thing. They answered and in a tough way- as they marched to score a go a header with only 55 seconds remaining in the contest. Dagger straight to the heart of the Fresno faithful.

Insert Jakeo the Ruler.

Haener strapped up the helmet and trotted right back into the smoke with only one mindset. That's when this tale really hits the skies. Haener dug down DEEP and marched his boys down that field, in the enemy's homeland and slayed their dreams and their night. Haener was sensational in the final march. Injured to the point he would wince on every throw at the end, Haener went full Matt Stafford and went 75 yards for a game-winning, 13-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Cropper to shock the Bruins (2-1) to the core and created a memory that his name will be stamped to for College Football's eternity. Straight awesomeness all around. The play, the point to the sky, and the epic slow fall as he knows his grit has payed off. Epic stuff, epic performance, epic grit, and straight up BAD A** by Mr. Jake Haener. The dude put up numbers:

Bravo. We watch sports to see performers like this. We watch sports to see human beings dig down as deep as one can go to prevail and conquer in defeat or valor. We should always adore moments of immense grit. I adore this performance here from a being by the name of Jake Haener... lets call him Jakeo the Ruler.
