Suga Show regains the steam

Ladies and gentleman, The Suga Show is back and has once again electrified the Octagon. Sean O'Malley is as outspoken as it gets, and his talk created a lot of adversities and criticism that the Suga Show had to shut up on Saturday night. There was fear that his ankles wouldn't hold up (like how they fell apart thanks to Chito Vera), and that Sean's durability had long term affect. He seems to, for now, put all those claims to rest after violently knocking out Thomas Almeida in the third round.

Boy oh boy did the kid put on a damn show. O'Malley's flashy striking, confidence, and savvy attitude continues to punch his stardom potential to the moon. Sean might have the most unique type of striking outside of McGregor and he showed that off again against Almeida giving the fans fireworks we have missed. In the first round, Suga Sean almost had himself another "walk-off" knockout on a gorgeous and flush head-kick, but Almeida recovered quickly as Sean did what is coming to be his patent walk away 'n stare, and referee Mark Smith allowed the bout to go on. While it wasn't the early walk-off knockout he seemed to be hoping for, going into the third round against Almeida was a positive. It gave O'Malley a chance to show he can weather some storms and work away at some of the criticism I mentioned in the beginning- Almeida kicked his legs hard several times- but Sean took them fine, still was throwing spinning kicks. Here is the kick that almost put Almeida away in the first (what a damn chin):

Sean looked as good as he did before the Vera fight. Same confidence and same savvy offense that always entertains. But how will O'Malley fare against the top talent that awaits him at bantamweight? Almeida has lost five of his last six fights and he's not an elite fighter at this point. This was clearly matchmaking to help O'Malley get back on track. O'Malley saying he is undefeated still is an absolute joke. It's the only thing holding me back from fully jumping back on his hype train. Come on dude, doing the ankle twist as a troll but then you are saying you are 13-0? People critic his leg strength because of how they collapsed thanks to Chito Vera, ya know the guy who is ranked and is 1-0 against 1'Malley. The only proper thing Sean should have said after the fight was that he demands a rematch against Vera (ranked) to settle it all. Bozo clown sh** won't cut it, especially when you still are only knocking out Almeida (no offense, Thomas).

But I'm glad the hype train gets some more steam for now, the UFC going into UFC 260 seemed to really be lackin' in young superstars for the future, and seeing Izzy's first loss (not that big of a deal) & the complete downfall of Khamzat Chimaev the clown show, doesn't help. But Suga Show sure does, his energy and swagger on Saturday was must watch TV. Sean was spittin' some trash, trollin', and dancin'- his Kobe fadeaway after his final vicious bomb was f'n awesome and savage, check it.

Once Football starts back up I'll definitely be starting up a "Cellys of the Month" and by hoping Sean fights a few more times this year... I'm sure we will see The Suga Show on a few of them as we did on Saturday. Another electric knockout, another electric showing by The Suga Show. As Daniel Cormier says on the call- Almeida should have taken the first round exit because the final shot he talks is BRUTAL. Despite the controversial takes, I don't blame the ref for Almeida eating this shot.

As of now, The Suga Show is officially back & is set to disembark into another stratosphere. Dana White is a excited man as all fight fans share the same excitement and are prepared to fill Unc's pocket. Now it's time to give Sean some real comp' as we know his ankle should be fine. He needs to cut out the "undefeated" bullsh**, but it's good to have The Suga Show back in full effect. Check out the impact of his KO on this live angle from the front row:
