Dana White has finally faced his reality... probably read my blog. White has finally allowed his pound for pound best on the planet to fly free into retirement.
"The Eagle" Khabib Nurmagomedov has officially retired from the UFC and MMA competition with a perfect 29-0 record. Dana White can finally let Khabib ride off in the sunset after capping off one of the more dominant and legendary careers of any athlete of record.
Dana must have read my blog, the time is far over due... it's time to let the dogs of the 155 division to pops some fireworks off and decide the next champion. But what in the hell is with him making Michael Chandler versus Charles Oliveira the bout to award the NEW champ? Now Olives, yes absolutely he is in one corner fighting for the title, but CHANDLER? Michael Chandler has had one(!) fight in the UFC and it was a helluva performance, but no way should it award him a immediate title match... ah hell no, especially not in THAT division. That is disrespectful!
Now if Dustin Poirier declined a title match against one of those two because he would rather do the trilogy with Conor, then ok but it's still crazy to give a shot to Chandler. Dana is obviously putting all his chips in, hoping Chandler steam rolls Oliveira (I can't see that happening, but Hangman) and setting up a monumental title match between the winner of the DP/McGregor trilogy. But when it comes to Poirier, it's all very odd. He has been loud on socials and in interviews saying he is the uncrowned champion and that his rubber match with Conor was the true title match... now he wants no part? Smells fishy Dana, we shall see how it pays out for ya. Nonetheless, I am glad we have some clarity now amongst the 155 division as the hold out ends & Khabib's retirement is made official. Cheers, champ!
So now the debate can start... is Khabib the UFC or even all of MMA; GOAT?
